Women United Kindergarten Countdown

Powerful women. Doing powerful things.

Women United

Women United is a powerful collaboration of women committed to significantly improving the quality of life for the children in Allen County by ensuring their readiness for kindergarten and elementary school success.

We are dedicated to making a difference through focused philanthropic giving, advocacy, and volunteerism.

Women United proceeds fund early childhood programs such as United Way’s Kindergarten Countdown, the State of Indiana’s On My Way Pre-K program and provides grant monies to early childhood centers to advance the cause of high-quality care. The women of this group bring passion, wisdom, and expertise to get things done.

Women United exists to:

  • Advocate for high-quality Early Childhood Education Initiatives
  • Raise funds for school readiness programs including Kindergarten Countdown and Born Learning Trail, as well as any additional initiatives the Women United members determine.
  • Create volunteer opportunities that connect women to the Women United mission and help children educationally.

Kindergarten Countdown

Kindergarten Countdown

Four weeks (20 days) of high-quality instruction to develop readiness skills for kindergarten in literacy, English, and social-emotional adjustment for 20 students per classroom.

Women's Fund

Women's Fund

The Women’s Fund seeks to improve the lives of Women and Girls and their collaboration with Women United will serve to strengthen both missions resulting in stronger, more unified efforts on behalf of our community. We are honored to offer dual membership options from both organizations and look forward to collaborating with the Women’s Fund for years to come.

“The USF students and I had a great time painting the murals at McMillen Park. We learned a lot and had to be patient with a variety of weather conditions. It was gratifying to watch the children and see their reactions when they walked by to investigate our work. We hope that this project will be enjoyed by the community for many years to come.”
