United Way of Allen County DEI Statement
United Way of Allen County is committed to walking hand in hand with those who have been traditionally and historically silenced while searching for ways to dismantle systemic systems of oppression and institutional patterns of discrimination.
We do not accept or allow injustice, racism, or inequities in our organizational attitudes, practices, or policies. We exist to eliminate disparities in our community; but first, we must ensure they do not occur in our organization.
We denounce all forms of racism, sexism, ableism, ageism, classism, homophobia, and all other forms of prejudice, bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. We respect, support, and protect the dignity, uniqueness, and intrinsic worth of every person. We believe and advocate for an equitable Allen County where each person is provided the resources, support, and ability to thrive through their own intersectional identity and situation.
Additionally, we strive to utilize the Decision-Making Framework alongside our DEI Identity Wheel, recognizing that these documents will never be fully finished and will require changes and updates as needed.
