Sep 22, 2023
The United Way of Allen County received $500,000 in funding to help support two different initiatives. The first is micro-grants for family home childcare providers that are improving quality and/or building capacity for infants and toddlers, which will impact the learning and developmental needs of infants and toddlers. The second is the creation and implementation of a pilot infant and early childhood mental health consultation program in Allen County.
“This is an evidence-based intervention for supporting young children’s social and emotional development and addressing challenging behaviors. This pilot will help build the capacity of our childcare providers, providing them with the needed support for our infants and toddlers to thrive,” said Ruthie Hall, director of Community Initiatives for United Way of Allen County.
