Not even humor, though, can make one of life’s inevitable tasks less burdensome. As tax season is again upon us, the simple truth is that almost no one looks forward to wrestling with those forms.
Families with an income of less than $54,000 can get help. Beginning Tuesday, IRS-certified volunteers will be available to help fill out federal and state tax returns for such families, free of charge. The volunteers are trained to help ensure you receive all refunds you’re eligible for. Taking advantage of earned-income tax credits and other credits may mean several thousands of dollars in refunds.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program is a partnership of the Volunteer Center and United Way of Allen County.
