Toby Thomas is a committed volunteer with great experience in our community. Toby has dedicated 18 years to AEP, 3 of those years he has served as the President & COO of Indiana Michigan Power. Between his work schedule and dedicating time to his community involvement you can find him spending time with his family, staying active, and serving others through church.
Toby’s devotion to Allen County is shown greatly during his time at United Way of Allen County where he has served on the Resource Development Committee for 3 years. As part of the Resource Development Committee, Toby helps United Way build lasting relationships in the community with companies he challenges to give back to Allen County and those who need it the most. As nearly 1 in 4 individuals in Allen County are working hard but struggling to survive, it is important that our community does not miss a chance to make a difference. “The foundational services provided by United Way and the funded partners help individuals and families when they need it the most and can bring people together around important causes,” Toby said in describing how critical United Way’s work is in this community.
United Way is an important piece in the future of Allen County because the organization can bridge the gaps and leverage resources for the benefit of others in the areas that need it the most. Individuals, such as Toby, join our committees at United Way for the same reasons – to bring about change, together. For a community that you can work, live, and play to reach its full potential you must LIVE UNITED in breaking down the barriers. Toby states “I am a firm believer that – a rising tide must raise all boats – for a truly healthy community.”
Toby works hard for his community, but he cannot do it alone. That is why he explains the need to help others in our community is real and it is growing – so if you are willing to stand up and be active in Allen County, you can make true change. When individuals come together, UNITED, we can find a way.
Thank you, Toby, for serving your community and your commitment to United Way of Allen County’s mission, you truly make a difference.
