United Way of Allen County thanks the community for their participation in the 5th Annual Community Food Drive
Mar 12, 2025
FORT WAYNE (March 12, 2025) – United Way of Allen County is excited to share the incredible success of our 5th annual Community Food Drive held between February 17 – March 4, 2025.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, community partners, and volunteers, we increased our collection by more than 2,800 lbs., a 40% increase over last year.
Here’s the breakdown of our results:
- Total food collected: 9,745 pounds!
- Number of collection sites: 59 collection sites were available to receive donations from community members
- Beneficiaries: On March 5th, 32 volunteers alongside United Way staff collected all the donations and delivered them to three local food pantries: Associated Churches, Community Harvest, and Miss Virginia’s. The items were then sorted at each pantry to ensure families could share a meal together.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, and spread the word. Your compassion and support are truly inspiring, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
Let’s continue to make a difference together. Stay tuned for more opportunities to give back!
