Andrew Gritzmaker
YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne
Andrew Gritzmaker is a Fort Wayne native and graduate of North Side High School and Purdue University Fort Wayne, where he earned both a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs and a Master of Arts in Public Management.
Andrew began his career in 2007 at Lutheran Hospital, where he held roles in Human Resources and Risk Management before transitioning to the nonprofit sector in 2013. As Executive Director of Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House (now Hope’s Harbor), he expanded access to overnight accommodations for families of critically ill or injured children by facilitating a merger with the Indiana Burn Council, launching a second location at St. Joseph Hospital, and breaking ground on a third facility at Dupont Hospital.
In 2019, Andrew was named CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Fort Wayne. During his tenure, he led the organization through a transformational period, eliminating $2.5 million in debt, launching a major restructuring, and driving a 500% increase in annual home production with a focus on low-income census tract development.
In October 2022, Andrew became President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne, which serves the region through nine membership branches, the Youth Service Bureau, Child Care Services, Metro operations, and YMCA Camp Potawotami. Under his leadership, the YMCA continues to advance its mission of strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
