Quality early childhood education is an important step in equiping our Allen County children with the tools they need to enter kindergarten ready to learn. Paths to QUALITYTM, Indiana’s Child Care Quality Rating and Improvement System, is a voluntary system that providers can enroll in to rate the care being provided by their program. Providers are ranked on a four level system, with each level building on the previous one.
Paths to QUALITYTM Levels
- Level One: Health and safety needs of children met.
- Level Two: Environment supports children’s learning.
- Level Three: Planned curriculum guides child development and school readiness.
- Level Four: National accreditation (the highest indicator of quality) is achieved.
Paths to QUALITYTM Grants
This past year, Women United and United Way were able to provide $20,000 in grants to 12 qualifying childcare providers. We have not opened up a new grant cycle. If you have questions regarding the Paths to QUALITYTM Grants please contact Ruthie Hall or call (260) 469.4002.
