Ladies, there is power in that purse of yours!
According to research done by the Women’s Philanthropy Institute at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, women give more than their male peers at virtually all income levels, even though women in general earn less and have less money in retirement than men, and have a greater life expectancy.
So, in other words, our community needs you!
Please join Women United, an affinity group of United Way of Allen County for the 2016 Power of the Purse. This powerful group of women dedicate the proceeds of this annual event to funding early education efforts for the children of Allen County.
WHAT IS WOMEN UNITED?
Formed in 2005, Women United is a powerful collaboration of women committed to significantly improving the quality of life for the children in Allen County by ensuring their readiness for kindergarten. We are dedicated to making a difference through focused philanthropic giving, advocacy and volunteerism. Women United proceeds fund early childhood programs such as United Way's Kindergarten Countdown, the State of Indiana's On My Way Pre-K Pilot program and provide grant money to early childhood centers to help them
