Hurricane Harvey made landfall on August 24 and is on track to be one of the costliest storms in U.S. history. While United Way of Allen County is not directly involved in the recovery efforts, United Ways in the region are helping residents with long-term recovery, which is expected to take several years.
How can you help? United Way Worldwide has established the United Way Harvey Recovery Fund, a national fund which will distribute 100 percent of donations for recovery in the affected areas in the months and years ahead. The fund will offer financial support to storm victims in Texas, Louisiana and the affected areas.

Hurricane Irma is on pace to wreak havoc in South Florida this weekend. As United Way prepares for another significant round of crisis management assistance, Allen County’s 2-1-1 has agreed to serve as a back-up to support the possible call overload if it is deemed necessary.
