Our Indiana Association of United Ways (IaUW) is excited to coordinate the Bison-tennial Public Art Project. This legacy project will help celebrate Indiana's 200th birthday by decorating and displaying 5-foot-tall fiberglass bison with an end goal of at least one - if not a herd - of bison on display in each of Indiana's 92 counties. The bison are expected to be complete around Memorial Day of 2016, with appearances in the local community and along the Bicentennial Torch Relay route leading up to Indiana's Bicentennial Statehood Day on December 11, 2016.
United Way of Allen County will be in charge of Allen County's Bison. It will be delivered in early March to Adam David Hall, a local Fort Wayne artist seen on the left, who will be painting the Bison. Please check back for more info on Adam and the Bison throughout the year. New photos of the Bison will be put on this page and Facebook throughout the process.
“The best art, in my estimation, is the simplest expression of complex ideas and emotions. No unnecessary strokes, no distractions. When the viewer can trust the artist to be straightforward, every detail becomes a hint or a clue worth tracing to the heart of the mystery. Adam David Hall doesn’t leave you wondering; he simply guides you to feel the bare truths and realities of everyday life.” – John Hall
