Vision, Mission & Strategies
Our mission, our purpose, is to unite our community’s time, talent, and treasure to cultivate and advance community solutions that address the most critical issues around basic needs, education, financial stability, and healthy lives.
The vision, our driving force, is an Allen County where all individuals and families discover and achieve their potential.
United Way of Allen County’s footprint is a vital part of our approach to transforming our community. There are four strategic channels that advance our impact: advocacy, volunteerism, collaborative initiatives, and agency investments.
Our work is focused on a generational approach in the four impact areas of childhood success, youth success, adult success, and safety net services. We are identifying and working toward eliminating the social dilemmas facing 24 percent of households in our community that make an annual income above the Federal Poverty Level but below the basic cost of living in Allen County. This is the population we know as ALICE.
With our ear to the ground and our finger on the pulse, we are practicing Turning Outward through ongoing Community Conversations. We are pinpointing the community’s most pressing needs as we listen and you tell us. We don’t just distribute dollars—we unite local organizations to develop holistic strategies and make smart, outcome-driven investments in our county, for its residents.
Join the fight for a better Allen County because change doesn’t happen alone.
