For the past 16 years, Day of Caring teams have served together to serve others. This year's event will focus community energy on a shared goal: All project sites will help kids be successful in life and learning.
We will clean, paint, landscape, and organize or interact at schools, nonprofits, child care centers, after-school youth programs and churches.
By joining our efforts, you can:1) improve the quality of life in our community and specifically help children succeed;2) increase understanding between businesses, nonprofits and the public;3) strengthen relationships among co-workers who volunteer; and4) provide a way for volunteers to see the results of their work. Please contact Jamie Garwood at jamieg@uwacin.org for more information. If you are a union member wanting more information, please contact Vickie Meyers at vickiem@uwacin.org.
What began in 1993 as a general sprucing up of the YWCA campus involving 250 volunteers has evolved into a massive effort that brings community volunteers face-to-face with local nonprofit and community organizations. Each year, more than 1,000 volunteers participate.
